It seems that on her newest album “Not Too Late,” Norah Jones, the sultry jazz/blues vocalist and piano prodigy refocuses her creative energies back on her music roots.
The album, which is much more reminiscent of the works featured on her multi-Grammy winning debut, “Come Away With Me” than her highly improbable consequent up, “Feels Like Home,” is quite good.
Grammy
There are a few truly outstanding tracks with the signature smooth, smoky, sultry Jones sound her fans have come to know and love. Some feature a slightly upbeat sound with maybe even a minuscule hint of a country music influence.
Overall, the best songs on this album are probably, “Thinking About You” and “Until The End” both intimately followed by the tracks “Rosie’s Lullaby” and “Wish I Could.” Then there are several tracks that fit into the categories of whether great than mean or mediocre. The only two songs that nothing else but seemed to leave something to be desired where “Sinkin Soon” and “Little Room”.

Overall, I’d say this is another solid work by an highly talented artist. I’d rate it a 4/5 or B full, and would advise it to fans of Jones’ prior albums as well as anything curious in going through an excellent jazz and blues style listening experience.

Hendrix’s success came in the early 60′s and the rest of his occupation is one for the history books. Jimi Hendrix died on September 18, 1970 but the circumstances surrounding his death have never admittedly been confirmed.

Les Paul was born in 1915 and was a pioneer in the invention of the solid body electric guitar. He became interested in music at 8 years old, first playing the harmonica. At age 13 he was performing as a country singer and at 17 he dropped out of high school to play in a band. His first album was released in 1936. Gibson Guitar Corporation originally turned him down to maker his solid body electric guitar. Les Paul died from pneumonia complications at the age of 93. He had a host of estimate one hits, report breaking inventions and won roughly every musical award imaginable.
B.B. King is ranked # 3 on the rolling stones top 100 list of many guitarists of all time. He was born in 1925 and bought his first guitar for at the age of 12. Stevie Ray Vaughn was inspired by his older brother, Jimmie to play the guitar. Born in 1954, Vaughn released 18 albums during his music career. Stevie Ray Vaughn’s guitar of selection was the Fender Stratocaster and his blue’s style was a mix in the middle of jazz and rock. He received dozens of awards in his career. Stevie Ray Vaughn died tragically in a helicopter crash in August of 1990.
Joe Satriani is probably the most preeminent guitar educator of all time. Joe was mostly known for his rock guitar talent though he was greatly talented at playing other musical instruments too. The death of Jimi Hendrix inspired Joe to play the guitar at the age of 14. After challenging to California to pursue a occupation in music in 1978, Joe started teaching guitar and taught members of some of the most thriving bands in music today, along with Steve Via. Joe Satriani has had his hands in every single aspect of music and has built a legacy like no other. His legacy will admittedly live on, decades after he’s gone.
